As I write this, I’m sitting on the toilet. Why? Because for a week, I’m trying to see what it’s like to pee while sitting down.

Noah and Devan have revealed, to my surprise, that they often sit while they pee because they find it more relaxing. So far, I find it quite awkward. But as you’ll learn in today’s episode of NO SUCH THING, there’s a growing international movement of men who sit down to pee. In Germany, upwards of 40% of men sit to pee, and in Japan, the number is as high as 70%. It blows my mind, and today we’re going to find out why this is happening.

First, the boys and I hash out our differences on the issue. Then, I interview Dr. Gerald Collins, an Irish urologist based in Manchester, England, who tells us if there are any medical benefits to sit-peeing, and whether he recommends it in general. Finally, I reveal the results of my experiment.
