I think its crazy and says more about everyone but Manny that you felt it necessary to make him feel social pressure just for not liking fish. Why does everyone have to like the same things? Would you do the same thing to someone who didn't like steak or pork or hotdogs? Just let people like what they like. It's not such a big deal.
This is what I thought the moment I saw this episodeβs title. Sure, if you can only eat tomatoes and cheese that might be a problem, but if you donβt like seafood just donβt eat seafood, you can still have a healthy diet without it!
As a reformed picky eater, I know the answer is yes!!! But I'll listen anyway π€ͺ I wish I had figured it out sooner than age 20 and would love to know what a specialist has to say about it!
I am the least picky eater in my entire family and friend group. That being said, my siblings (three of them), my husband, my kids, and half of my friend group (10 people) are extremely picky. I donβt get to share food with many people and sometimes feel like a short order cook at home. I do see it has more to do with textures being a big hurdle and lack of control in the lives of my young kids. So, I just gracefully handle it and know I am an island.
Lmao, this is not picky eating ππ I was hoping the ep would go into sensory processing issues, ARFID, vegetarianism from a disgust point of view etc... like there was just so many interesting places this could go, but not wanting to eat slimy fish is pretty normal as far as food aversions go. Like, I'm a very picky eater and always have been, and it's something I work pretty hard to hide. I'm actually vegan for unrelated reasons, but went vego at age 10 because of disgust for eating meat. I feel like such a loser being 32 and picking broccoli and cauliflower out of things because I can't handle the thought of choking it down.. and I would have liked to hear more about why people like me exist, lol.

This was a great episode!
Thank you!!
Didn't you just learn you like high end seafood and not the trash seafood? I'm a seafood person and am in the exact same place as you.
