She really buried the lead - she eventually said you should only use this method if you feel "ambivalent" towards getting pregnant. Um, no. Also, it's impossible to know when you're ovulating without sophisticated testing, as menstrual cycles are far more variable than you think - that's why people who use these methods (and the so-called "calendar method") are called parents.
This is rough. None of the stats appear wrong, but they’re incomplete. How many people are able to perfectly able to use condoms vs people able to use the “pull out” method? If both methods are similar in efficacy when perfect vs. typical use, but 90% of condom users use them perfectly and 30% of PO folks do it perfectly, that’s really relevant info.
Also, ovulation isn’t that easy. Lots of women and girls (especially teenagers!) have irregular periods and don’t really know when they ovulate. Even with an apparently regular period, a person might not ovulate exactly at 2 weeks.
I fully agree that we should have clear and robust sex ed for kids (and adults, clearly) but we should account for how incredibly difficult perfect use is when using the PO method vs. condoms.

This felt like RFK sponsored the podcast.
