NO SUCH THING is back. How does that make you FEEL?
Today’s episode is about therapy. Normally I’d get more granular in a description, but we cover a lot in this episode. What is therapy exactly, and what is it supposed to do? How do you know if you need therapy? If you’re in therapy, how do you know if it’s working? Are people abusing or misusing what they learn in therapy? Is “therapy speak” a real problem, or is that discourse overblown?

For me, therapy has been an invaluable tool that helps me understand why I think the way that I do. I feel like I maneuver the world with a little more agency whenever I’m in therapy. But of course, there are many, many layers to what therapy is, and what it isn’t.
Helping to walk us through all of this is Lilly Kaplan, a therapist based in Brooklyn, NY, and the author of the binge-worthy Reality Test newsletter. Consider subscribing!
Enjoy our chat with Lilly, and as always, let us know what you think.
If you like this episode, you may also enjoy an older one we did about the phenomenon of men not asking each other follow-up questions. Our guest Liz Plank enlightened us as to why, and made us quiz each other on basic facts from our lives.
Feedback Loop
You guys were extremely vocal about our previous episode on food poisoning and food safety. When it comes to the concept of a bowl designated for throwing up in, 56% of you said you had this kind of bowl growing up, based on a small poll we ran on Instagram.
And many of you were shocked and appalled that we don’t wash our chicken before cooking it, despite food safety experts concluding that this is not necessary, and could even be detrimental. I respect all viewpoints and perspectives on this divisive issue, and thankfully, it’s a free country and you can do what makes you happy.
